Scripts cannot find correct interface object on webapp UI

Postby sarahmaddox » Sat Aug 01, 2009 1:41 am

Hallo all

I'm attempting to use an evaluation version of SHO Guide to create scripts for a web app (Atlassian Confluence 2.10). I downloaded my evaluation version of SHO Guide today. I'm using IE 7, with Internet protected mode turned off. (I've also tried Firefox 3, just in case that works, but it doesn't work either.)

I can record scripts OK. But when I run the scripts, I get a consistent error. It says that it "cannot find the correct interface object to complete the step". I've tried this on various UI elements, but no luck.

I tried the tutorial, creating a script for Windows Notepad. That works fine.

I'm running Windows Vista, and IE 7 with Internet protected mode turned off.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Sarah

I found the problem. I had Firefox running at the same time as IE. Even though I was doing all the SHO authoring and viewing in IE, it was still a problem if I had a Firefox window open. Easy to fix: Close Firefox.
