What is SHO Technology?

Transcensus Scripted Human Operator™ (SHO) technology is an exciting innovation in software performance support and user assistance.  SHO technology allows content developers to create learning, assistance and support resources that interact directly with the interfaces of Windows software applications, providing an unprecedented, process-embedded learning experience for the software user.  The SHO technology platform can be thought of as a virtual instructor or tutor looking over the user's shoulder and offering step-by-step guidance inside the actual software application.

SHO technology does not produce simulation content, nor does it require the use of a browser, simulation window or other external training interface.  The user is guided through completion of actual job tasks within the live software application, allowing for immediate productivity with the application and highly predictable outcomes.

What is SHO Player?

SHO Player is a simple and effective playback interface for content that is produced with the SHO Guide authoring solution.  After performing a one-time installation of the SHO Player application, a user can initiate published SHO scripts to help them more perform software-related job tasks.  For security purposes, a trusted script feature allows the user to determine whether or not to run scripts from certain authors.  Simple player controls allow the software user to pause, restart or end a SHO script.  Scripts can also be suspended at any time by simply pressing the Esc key on the keyboard. SHO Player only runs when a script is active and closes immediately when the script is completed.

SHO Player is a certified, registered installation that does not install spyware or other malware components that may breach or put at risk an organization’s privacy or security policies.  SHO Player does not collect any information, personal or otherwise, pertaining to the user of the software.  Download size is less than 1MB.

Following are the minimum system requirements for running SHO Player.

  • Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista
  • Internet Explorer 6 (Internet Explorer 7 is preferred)
  • 256MB RAM
  • 500 MHz processor
